'It was a long shot': Newborn koala survives transfer to surrogate mum's pouch

A Queensland wildlife sanctuary saves the life of a newborn koala in a rare, and possibly Australia-first, medical procedure where a two-day-old koala joey called Hermit was transferred from its ailing mother’s pouch and into the pouch of a surrogate mother.
