If there are two things that Australia’s are best at, it’s drinking their coffee and travelling.
Australia is ranked 42nd in the world for coffee consumption at 3 kilogram per capita, according to a report from World Atlas in 2017.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics also reported that Australians broke the country’s record in 2012 with 8.2 million or 31 out of 100 residents leaving Australia to travel.
So, when Brisbane locals Callum Whitehead and Matt Tainton opened the Barrow & Bear Travel + Coffee in June 2017, they made dreams come true for a lot of Australians.
Barrow & Bear Travel + Coffee is a fusion between a travel agency and a coffee shop in one place. Guests can plan their travels abroad with Callum over a delicious coffee or sumptuous meal without having to go to any other restaurants.

The travel agency-slash-coffee shop also makes it possible for their guests to travel from one country to another, figuratively, with their meals named after travel destinations.
Guests can order “Cairo” which is make up of smashed mint avocado, topped with macadamia dukkah and sugar snap peas or “Manhattan” made with poached eggs, served on a toasted sourdough with spinach and kale with bacon, tomatoes and hollandaise.
Lunch options can be “Kentucky” made with panko crumbed chicken with fennel, radish, cabbage slaw and herb oil on Turkish bread or Tacos from Athens made with Greek chicken, feta, tzatziki, olives, and lettuce.
